Thirty days to change your mind.
An hour in the sun is all it takes
Researchers parked cars on 100°F days and measured what the interior did after sixty minutes.
Without ShadyCar figures are from a 2018 Arizona State University / University of California San Diego study, measured after one hour on a 100°F day. With ShadyCar figures are from our own one-hour test after blocking direct sunlight with the shade.
Up in about five seconds
The part people actually hate about sunshades is putting them away. This one closes like an umbrella.
Push it open
Hold the shaft and push, the same way you'd open an umbrella. You can do it from the driver's seat.
Rest it on the dash
The canopy sits flush against the glass with its base on the dashboard. Flip both visors down over the top edge and it stays upright.
Collapse and stow
Close it, slide it into the sleeve, and drop it in the center console or glove box. No folding sequence to remember.
Two sizes
Regular is for sedans and regular SUVs. XL is for large SUVs and trucks.

4.8 out of 5
“haven't burned the sh*t out of my hand on my steering wheel since buying one of these. 10/10”
“Opens way easier than the flat folding shades I kept ripping. Bought a second for my wife”
“I really like it! It's soo much easier than my old annoying folding one, AND it was cheaper.”
ShadyCar vs. a folding shade
Same job. Minus the part nobody enjoys.
Questions
How does it stay up?
The canopy sits flush against the windshield with its base resting on the dashboard, and you flip both sun visors down over the top edge of the canopy. Without the visors, gravity tips the canopy forward into the cabin. If your car has a large mirror housing or a dashcam, the visors won't close the gap completely, but they'll still hold it in place.
Which size should I get?
Regular (54.5″ × 30.5″) is for sedans and regular SUVs. XL (59″ × 33.5″) is for large SUVs and trucks. If you're between the two, measure your windshield at its widest point.
How small does it fold?
Down to about the size of a folding umbrella, into the sleeve it comes with. It fits a center console or a glove box, so it isn't taking up a seat.
Is it hard to put away?
No. It closes the way an umbrella closes — one motion, no folding order to get right, nothing springing back open on you.
How long does delivery take?
Most orders arrive in 5–9 days, tracked the whole way. You'll get a tracking link by email as soon as it ships.
How much is shipping?
A single shade is a $2.99 flat rate. 2 or more ships free, tracked either way.
What if it isn't for me?
Thirty days to send it back. Email support@shadycar.com and we'll sort it out.
